GPC has extensive experience in providing planning advice, and preparing and lodging development applications for schools and other similar related educational uses across Queensland. GPC is very knowledgeable about the needs and day to day operations of schools and works closely with the client and project team to achieve great outcomes for the educational establishment.
GPC is able to provide advice to schools on the best planning approval approach, including consideration of the Community Infrastructure Designation process now available for independent schools. GPC has provided town planning consultancy services to a large number of educational establishments.
USC Moreton Bay
Project
GPC obtained an approval for the University of the Sunshine Coast Foundation Building within the Mill Priority Development Area. This building represents the first greenfield university campus to be opened in Australia since 2005 and GPC was proud to have managed the development approval for USC. The Foundation Building is the first building of a new master planned campus to be rolled out at Petrie.

Somerville House
Project
GPC has assisted Somerville House in acquiring a series of development approvals for new facilities both at the South Brisbane campus and in other parts of Brisbane.
The South Brisbane campus is located within the Queensland Children’s Hospital State Development Area under the State Development and Public Works Organisation Act 1971. Parts of the site are identified as a State Heritage Place. Material change of use applications were assessed by the State Government. All building work applications were assessed by Brisbane City Council.

Arethusa College
Project
GPC has assisted the Shaftesbury Centre in acquiring development approvals for the establishment of Arethusa College at two separate campuses in Brisbane.
One of the campuses is listed as a State and Local Heritage Place and is located on land zoned for open space. GPC also assisted the Shaftesbury Centre in acquiring development approval to reconfiguring this land to create a new leasehold lot.

St Joseph's Nudgee College

GPC has assisted St Joseph’s Nudgee College in acquiring a series of development approvals for new facilities at the Boondall campus, and providing town planning advice on various sites across South East Queensland. The various development approvals have involved assessment by the State government on a number of different State interests.

Parklands Christian College
Project
GPC has assisted Parklands Christian College with acquiring development approvals from Logan City Council from the establishment of the educational establishment. A key aspect of the approval process has been the staging of building works over time, as well as staging of external works to help manage college budgets.
